Welcome to Pylon Pictures

Pylon Pictures was set up in 2008 with the aim of producing exciting, original, entertaining and unusual British feature films. The company is based in Manchester, but our vision is worldwide. Pylon’s productions are often other-worldly, surreal, uncomfortable - they explore compelling alternative story ideas and encompass the very dark side of human nature.

New Short Film in Pre Production for Cornerhouse (01.04.10)

Pylon Pictures is currently in full pre production swing on a brand new short film project. The film is to be shown as part of an art installation at the Cornerhouse in Manchester later in the year. Details are a bit hush hush at the moment but there will be a sufficient supply of surrealism with singing and dancing Mexican air hostesses. All terribly exciting! Due to go into production at the end of April. Check back here for more info.

Glowing BBC Review of Songs You Can Sing Video (26.01.10)

Quoted from the BBC Introducing website:

“Dave O’Dowda, frontman of Manchester modern folk six-piece Table, has described his band’s latest video as “perfect”.

The promo for Songs You Can Sing was directed by Table guitarist Keiran Flynn and Dave says he is sure that is why it is so good.

“Having him do the video was great, as he knows the song better than anyone… except me of course.”

The film accompanies Table’s debut single, which is out on Static Caravan.

It’s no surprise Dave is impressed with it, as it is a stunning piece of work. "

New Office! (09.06.09)

Pylon is moving up in the world! After a good scour of Manchester’s office offerings we have found a cute not-too-big-or-small home for ourselves right in the city centre. You can now find us at 40 Princess st, M1 6DE. If you’re in town do pop by, i might even offer you a glass of scotch from my (presently empty) crystal decanter if you’re lucky, but you better at least bring some biscuits…

Heartless Short Film Complete! (13.05.09)

Pylon Pictures’s first short film and director Keiran Flynn’s fourth short film Heartless is finally completed.

The results reflect all the hard work everybody has put into the project to pull this film together over the past year. It is a very good looking film, we are over the moon with it as our company’s first production.

Now it’s time to get it rolled out to the festivals. There will be a screening event hosted by us in the next couple of months so you can all come and have a glass of wine on us and view the flick in all it’s splendour.

Heartless latest (01.04.09)

Heartless has gone to London for the final vfx and grading to be applied. Everything else is finished on the film now, so we should literally be a few days away from completion. Check back shortly for details of our screening and networking event which is currently in the works.
